At the end of each and every day lately I have to read this to remember the meaning of this word!
I have been a tad bit under the weather. I have been tired and cranky the last two weeks. Today I was making Native One his snack after school and was thinking to myself that I was a bad Mommy. I was so lazy that I pulled out some Canned Cheese and put it on some Ritz. I was standing there beating myself up because I was not washing grapes and cutting up fruit for a healthy snack. Why do we MOMS do that?
We are good Moms and everyday we question ourselves and do not cut ourselves any slack. There are many books written on this very subject. Go google them and be amazed. As of right I am giving myself a break because I know that everything I do right now is for my Natives. If once in a while I feel like crap and feel like pulling out Canned Cheese well that does not make me a bad Mom right?
This week I was in the car and Go on take another little piece of my heart was on the radio and it brought me back to the memories of my Levis and my youth.
I use to love the change in the weather up in old Virginia and it was time to put on my favorite pair of Levis (which has been many many moons ago) and listen to my favorite music. Cold weather and Janis Joplin! It is something about listening t to Janis Joplin and wearing Levis. It sort of gives you a rebel feel! Janis belting out GO ON TAKE ANOTHER LITTLE PIECE OF MY HEART was once my theme song!
I still feel young and rebellious in my mind only.
Then the next song on the radio was by Elton John. The Beoch is Back and a thought flashed in my mind Could this be my new theme song? NO not at all if you know the lyrics but at that particular moment I felt like a beoch for all the thoughts going on in my not so young mind anymore.
The Song ended and I decided that I needed something more in the NOW. I stopped to listen to Pitbull's I know you want me and it was ok but still not what I was in the mood for. I switched the station again and Nickelback's If today was your last day was a step up but still not what my old rebel self really wanted.
Then I switched yet again to another station and AHH Hootie and the Blowfish yes can put me right in the mood of wanting my OLD Levi's just like Janis Joplin. Finally for a few minutes more I was back in my rebel mind of my misguided youth.
So really what is this post about? I don't really know. Maybe it was just to note that certain things can bring forth a memory. I am not saying that all the memories are always good or bad. The point is that we can be in the car or standing in a store and all of a sudden a memory just runs across our mind by something so innocent as music.
